Welcome…

This site aims to give you a bridge between BA (Hons) Public Relations & Communication course and the industry.

The C.V. section aims to advise you how to write a better C.V. including what to include and what NOT to! Job finding has details of job directories and where to find them. Interview Advice aims to give you useful advice from Xchangeteam recruitment.

.....
I have also gathered together a contact list of the current PR & Comm’s Level three students so we can keep in contact when we enter the big communication industry!

I have also been in contact with our lecturers from the last three years who have been very helpful in providing me with their views on their industries and given an insight into the skills we need to be able to prove when we leave. They give advice on the most important personal qualities you need to show employers and what evidence you need on your C.V. Kirsty Veenhuysen, BA (Hons) Public Relations and Communication Joint Course Leader has provided an essential reading list.

...Thanks to all the students and lecturers for completing my surveys which have contributed greatly to this website!

...I have also added some extra news below….

… Firstly a reminder that BA (Hons) Public Relations & Communication is now recognised by the professional body The Chartered Institute of Public Relations! This is good news as it will help on paper but it also allows us to become a member for the cheaper fee of £40, this also includes PR Week in the cost.…

.....

...Kirsty Veenhuysen is producing a newsletter that will help the PR & Comm’s students, past and present, hear about the jobs graduates have landed after studying our course at (the now) Southampton Solent University. To provide information to this newsletter email kirsty.vennhuysen@solent.ac.uk
.....

… And Good Luck to Rachel Lamb who will be launching her own publishing company with national and regional magazines!

.....

Remember 3rd year students can take apply to take out 15 books from the uni library!

Thanks for visiting...

I hope this project is helpful to you...
